Maul changed his legs because his original, crude spider-like cybernetic legs were damaged and replaced with more functional, humanoid ones to restore his mobility and fighting prowess. Star Wars Canon Wiki +1
When found by his brother Savage Opress, Maul had no memory of who he was, rambled nonsensically, and had built hideous spider-like legs in place of his severed ones. Opress brought Maul back to his homeworld of Dathomir, where the Nightsister Mother Talzin used dark magicks to restore the fallen Sith's mind and body.
As a result, Lucas created the fan-favorite character of Darth Maul, who was introduced in the first prequel trilogy film. However, Maul was killed off unceremoniously at the end of the film. Nonetheless, Lucas eventually regretted the decision to kill off such a beloved and fascinating character.
Darth Maul was stronger than Obi Wan, he proved that when he killed Qui-Gon but he was over primed and traded being a showman for his life. Another contender for the weakest Sith could be Count Dooku, or has he's also known Darth Tyranus.
After being found by his brother and returning to Talzin, Maul was equipped with a new and improved set of cybernetic legs built from parts of a B2 super battle droid. After losing that set of legs, Maul was refitted new legs by Pre Viszla and the mandolorians of deathwatch on Concordia.
Maul never was truly a Sith Lord and used the “Darth” title while Darth Sidious was still Apprenticed to Sith Master Darth Plagueis… there can be only two, a Master and an Apprentice. Darth Plagueis was killed by Darth Sidious on the same night that Darth Maul was bisected by then Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Tales of Vader's ability to annihilate multiple Jedi at once circulated even among the Sith, instilling both fear and a bitter respect. Maul, for all his own achievements, understood that Vader had ascended to a plane of power he could not match—a terrifying force of destruction unlike any other.
Darth Vectivus. He basically got all the power he wanted and then retired to live with his family and friends and died peacefully, none of the Sith backstabbing. Vergere is potentially another (although I'm still pissed at the retcon of her being Sith).
Ahsoka's departure haunted Yoda for some time afterward; he felt extremely guilty and remorseful, partly for refusing to stand by her and partly for placing her on the path that led to her departure from the Jedi Order. In fact, his guilt was so great that the Dark Side attempted to use it against him, but failed.
Vader's betrayal cut deep, as he had been responsible for the destruction of her home planet, Alderaan, and the deaths of countless innocent people, including her adoptive parents. The revelation that Vader was her father must have been utterly shattering for Leia.
Maul as a Sith hates pretty much everyone, but there is no doubt his greatest hatred is for the Jedi Obi-wan Kenobi and the Sith Lord Sidious. Obi-wan cut him in half, left him for dead and caused Maul to fall into a depression and become a rapid feral animal for over a decade.
They did! Maul almost ran Anakin over, but Quigon said “DUCK ANAKIN!” Having that goon come back from the dead after getting cut in half ans falling down what appears to be an endless hole is lame. Yes, every Star Wars character has to directly interact with and know every other Star Wars character.
His restricted interests, fixation on specific individuals, difficulty recognizing social cues, and tendency to experience sensory overload align with characteristics of autism. While Anakin's diagnosis is open to interpretation, his portrayal offers representation that neurodivergent fans can identify with.
Per canon in the titular story within From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi, Obi-Wan, like the true Jedi he was, gave Maul a proper cremation according to Jedi customs before Order 66. Maul WAS NOT buried in canon or left to the desert creatures, but I cannot answer for Legends.
Angriest Sith? Obviously Darth Garth. Darth Maul got cut in half at the waste yet survived without medical treatment for thirteen years. He did so through pure hatred alone.
The Lost Twenty, also known as the The Lost, was a name given to the group of twenty Jedi Masters who left the Jedi Order throughout its history. According to Yula Braylon of the Jedi High Council, the Lost Twenty became disillusioned with the Jedi way of life.
But there was one fear above all that scared him the most. You see, on the surface, Vader feared fire because of Musafar and he feared Obi-Wan because his old master had once destroyed him but his greatest fear was Palpatine.
From slaughtering younglings in the Jedi Temple to tracking down survivors across decades, Vader killed dozens of Jedi, both directly and through the Inquisitorius. Canon sources estimate 50–60 Jedi slain, while Legends materials raise the count to over 100, cementing Vader's legacy as the ultimate Jedi executioner.
While Maul did finally let go of his hate for Obi Wan, it was undeniably stronger than Vader's. No matter how much Vader resented Obi Wan for not sticking up for him enough and brutally injuring him on Mustafar...he still deep down still a degree of fondness due to the time they spent together as Jedi.
Anakin Skywalker, one of the main characters in the "Star Wars" films, meets the criteria for borderline personality disorder (BPD).
Vader breaks free of the operating table and takes a few steps before doing the only thing anybody in his position could do, he screams an unholy, bloodcurdling scream. His vocal computer has nothing close to this sound in its database so it translates it to the infamous 'Noooooooooo'.
The 5 most useless Star Wars characters
During Mandalore's Civil War and his apprenticeship under Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan fell in love with the young Duchess Satine Kryze.
